Terms of Use

Last updated: August 17, 2026

Using ClearPaste means you accept these terms. They're deliberately short and written in plain language.

The service

ClearPaste is a free, browser-based tool that cleans formatting and Unicode artifacts from text. It is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

What ClearPaste does not do

ClearPaste does not remove, verify, or detect statistical AI watermarks (such as Claude's planned text watermark or Google's SynthID). We explicitly disclaim any representation that the tool can defeat proprietary AI provenance systems. Any third-party claim that a browser-based tool "100% removes" such watermarks is not endorsed by us. See the honest breakdown →

Acceptable use

You agree not to use ClearPaste to:

No liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClearPaste shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the service. The tool is a convenience — you are responsible for verifying your own text before publishing it.

Intellectual property

The ClearPaste name, design and code are the property of the project. You may use the tool freely; you may not republish the site or its assets as your own without permission.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
